Calvert Cliffs, Maryland is a well-known location for collecting over 600 species of fossils (sharks’ teeth being the most popular).
But be sure to also check out lesser-known Brownie’s Beach (BayFront Park) near Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. Access is free between Labor Day and Memorial Day.
Expect to find sharks’ teeth … and sea glass …
And … be on the lookout for an unusually mysterious phenomenon — tiny glass beads wash ashore here all the time!
But why? Many theories abound … a possible shipwreck, or … Native Americans who lived here centuries ago, or … a former amusement park …
